Hibs 5-2 Inverness: Goal-fest at Easter Road as Hibees book Scottish Cup semi-final spot

Hibs swept aside Inverness on an entertaining night at Easter Road to secure their spot in the semi-finals of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

Adam Jackson opened the scoring as the break approached after skipper Paul Hanlon earlier missed a first-half penalty – awarded for a Kevin McHattie pull on Marc McNulty's shirt.

After Jackson's opener, Scott Allan and Greg Docherty then got themselves on the scoresheet to help put Jack Ross' side in a commanding lead.

Inverness threatened to spark a late comeback when Carl Tremarco netted but their hopes of a stirring comeback were thwarted when Brad McKay was dismissed for a foul on Christian Doidge.

Stephane Omeonga and Jamie Gullan both opened their accounts for the club to add gloss to the scoreline before a late consolation from Nikolay Todorov.
