Hibernian Kilmarnock: 3 things we learned as Capital clash ends goalless

Kilmarnock will be heading back to Ayrshire knowing they could have left Edinburgh with all three points.

Steve Clarke's men missed a number of decent chances as their clash ends in a bore-draw.

Here's three things we learned:

1. A spell on the sidelines did Jordan Jones the world of good

A divisive character amongst the Killie faithful, but Jones certainly put in a great shift tonight.

He will leave in the summer as he heads to Rangers, and many Killie fans want to see the back of him now.

But he played well tonight, whipped in a few teasing balls and could have scored just after half-time when Paul Hanlon left him through on goal, but Ofir Marciano pulled off an incredible save.

2. Killie didn't look anywhere near as clinical as Saturday's 5-0 win against Hamilton

It was always going to be difficult following up the weekend's hammering of Hamilton.

Every time Killie went forward on Saturday they looked like scoring - the polar opposite of tonight's game against Hibs.

There were far too many times that Steve Clarke's men misplaced a pass in the final third, or even picked out the wrong pass completely.

It's unlikely to worry Steve Clarke though as his side continue to be solid at the back...

3. Killie are as solid as you like defensively

... Which brings us on to our next point.

The Ayrshire men were as good as ever at the back as they made it four clean sheets from five, with a single goal conceded at Ibrox being the only blemish on that record.

Stuart Findlay put in a fantastic performance yet again as he continues to impress under Steve Clarke.
