HGV carrying slabs of concrete tips over in middle of the road

A HGV carrying slabs of concrete tipped onto its side and blocked the road in Bridgend on Tuesday morning.

The vehicle was pictured on its side on Meadow Walk in Brackla, Bridgend at around 10.40am.

The HGV, owned by LBS Builders Merchants, was lying on its side having tipped over when carrying slabs of concrete.

It is believed that the lorry was stuck on its side for a few hours.

A spokeswoman for LBS said the driver was uninjured and the vehicle was not damaged.

She added: "We will now be conducting a full and thorough investigation."

It is not the only incident in recent months of large vehicles blocking roads.

In September, a delivery lorry got stuck under a bridge and closed a busy Cardiff road, and in July a lorry got stuck on Swansea's steepest street.
