Heywood murder investigation: Two men arrested after woman's body found in car boot

Police have arrested two men on suspicion of murder, after the body of a woman was found in a car boot in Heywood, Rochdale.

Greater Manchester Police officers were tipped off shortly after 7:35pm on Thursday that a body was in a vehicle in Heywood.

Investigators then followed a car fitting the description after spotting it in Claybank Street, at around 3:50pm on Friday. The vehicle was later abandoned in nearby River Street.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

“The men remain in custody for questioning and inquiries are ongoing,” said a spokesman for the force.
