“Hey! I’m not a U.S. citizen!”: Chicago delivery guy on a bicycle makes absolute fools of armed federal agents

A viral video out of downtown Chicago is making the rounds, and honestly, I haven’t laughed this hard at a group of supposedly “tough guys” in ages. What you see is a chaotic street chase where a delivery guy on a bicycle completely outpaces and humiliates a crowd of armed Border Patrol agents.

This entire incident is a perfect illustration of the weird society we’re currently forced to live in, where federal agents are being sent away from the actual borders and into American cities like Chicago, all as a political stunt. Local leaders like Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker have openly called this a move of intimidation, not safety. In fact, Mayor Johnson has slammed the whole raid, calling the agents’ presence “a show of intimidation, instilling fear in our communities and hurting our businesses”.

The video of the delivery man, who’s still thankfully anonymous, shows him first taunting a crowd of masked-up agents standing along the sidewalk. You can clearly hear his incredible taunts on the videos: “Boy, get your bitch a** home,” and then the kicker, “Hey! I’m not a U.S. citizen. Come on!”. It’s unclear if that last line is true or if he was just trying to draw the agents’ focus away from someone else, but either way, it worked.

ICE fails to catch man on a bike

After the agents started laughing, the man began riding away, but then he dropped his phone and had to circle back. That’s when multiple agents in full tactical gear – we’re talking nearly ten Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers – darted into the street. One agent even yelled, “Get him!”. The ensuing chase is a perfect visual representation of overspending on gear and underspending on cardio, as the cyclist was able to pick up his phone, hop back on his bike, and speed away with absolute ease, leaving the struggling, heavily geared-up officers in the dust.

The internet, as you can imagine, is absolutely loving this hero on a bike. To see federal agents, sent to intimidate residents, look like such complete fools is weirdly uplifting for a lot of people. People are cheering him on, with some writing things like, “This man is our hero!!”. Others are poking fun at the sheer number of agents who failed to catch one guy on a bicycle. My favorite was a gif of Friday where Ice Cube and Chris Tucker chase the annoying kid on a bike.

It’s a truly ridiculous scene and a great reminder of the underlying tension in the city right now. You have armed agents patrolling major tourist spots, all as a political show, and a single, determined delivery worker on a bike makes them look utterly incompetent. The video has over 12 million views on X, and it’s no wonder. This simple gesture of taunting and escaping an intimidation tactic is resonating with a lot of U.S. citizens who are not happy about the government being weaponized against its own people.
