Hewlett Packard Enterprise opens new collaboration hubs as firm announces new jobs for Manchester

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has opened two UK 'collaboration hubs', with the firm also announcing dozens of new jobs for Manchester.

The US IT giant said its new sites in Manchester and Reading will complement its recently established 'Edge to Office' program, which aims to allow team members to work and stay connected remotely.

HPE said the new UK sites are designed "with teamwork, social connections and talent development at their heart", using collaboration spaces and open seating as part of its new post-pandemic way of working.

The firm also said it is recruiting in Manchester - and with 225 staff based out of the new Circle Square hub, it hopes that figure to rise to around 250.

HPE said it has also transformed existing offices in Bristol and Glasgow.

Marc Waters, SVP and MD for UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, said: “Hewlett Packard Enterprise has innovation in our DNA and we want to lead in digital and cultural change.

“In business, people ultimately make the difference and HPE has long been a leader in workplace flexibility.

"Trust and empowerment are core to our culture with a commitment to talent development and high performance. To stay ahead of our competition in the battle for talent, we have redefined our work spaces and policies to implement a bold Edge-to-Office vision.”

With the other hub located at Winnersh Triangle in Reading, HPE said the spaces have been designed to create a "dynamic and collaborative culture in which HPE team members can thrive".

The sites are centred around meeting rooms, open seating areas and lounges, rather than a large volume of individual work desks.

The firm, which works in servers, storage, networking and more, employs some 60,000 people worldwide.

Mr Waters added: “The workplace isn’t a ‘place’ as such. It’s a culture, it’s how we collaborate and ultimately it’s the way we do things. We continue to invest in tools and resources to keep team members connected and promote collaboration, for both in-person and virtual environments.

"Our new collaboration hubs are designed to enhance team working and increase the value of the time we spend together."
