Heung-min Son crying after 'breaking' Antonio Rudiger's ribs, jokes Jose Mourinho

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has appeared to poke fun at Antonio Rudiger's reaction during the incident which saw Heung-min Son sent off.

During a game which was overshadowed by alleged racist abuse towards the Chelsea defender, Son was previously shown a straight red card for appearing to kick out at Rudiger following a collison.

The chants allegedly aimed at Rudiger followed his involvement in the incident that saw Son dismissed - and Mourinho responded sarcastically to the seemingly limited contact involved.

"I hope that Rudiger recovers quick from the broken ribs because for sure he will have a few broken ribs," he said.

Asked if Son had contributed to his own downfall, Mourinho added: "No, if he does nothing and if the referee gives immediately a yellow card to Antonio Rudiger for a foul, I don't think he will have a reaction.

"When you are frustrated, you can have this kind of emotional reaction and the referee and obviously the VAR have to analyse.

"Against Everton Sonny was crying because of the Andre Gomes injury. Today Sonny is crying because he broke a few of Antonio Rudiger's ribs.

"For me, that red card is a strange one but I don't want to be focused on that because my team lost and I have to be complimentary to the opponent and congratulate them for their victory."
