Out-of-favour West Coast midfielder Elijah Hewett has turned down interest from a host of rival clubs to re-sign with the Eagles until the end of 2030.
Hewett's original deal was due to expire at the end of this year and the No.14 pick from the 2022 draft was weighing up a move interstate after being dropped twice already this season.
A number of Melbourne-based clubs had made enquiries about Hewett in their bid to lure him, but the 22-year-old has decided to pen a new four-year deal with West Coast.
Hewett has played just six AFL games this season and was again overlooked for Sunday's clash with the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium, but he's backing himself to win back his spot.
"I'm absolutely stoked to re-sign," Hewett said in a statement.
"This club means a lot to me as a West Coast boy. It's been a challenging year, but I feel I'm a part of something bigger, which is the convincing factor.
"I love putting on the blue and gold and I'm keen to put my head down and get back to work."
With Harley Reid, Tim Kelly, Elliot Yeo and Willem Duursma all preferred options in the midfield, Hewett was trialled in the forward line earlier this season after overcoming a pre-season quad injury.
The experiment failed badly, with Hewett dropped after a goalless three games, including an eight-disposal effort against Richmond in round eight.
Hewett went back to the WAFL and regained confidence as a ball-winning midfielder, but his recall to the AFL side lasted just two games before he was dropped again.
Although Hewett has struggled for form this year, West Coast have high hopes for what he can achieve in the future.

"Elijah has just turned 22 and we see him as an integral part of our future as we continue the rejuvenation of our playing list," West Coast's list boss Matt Clarke said.
"He is an exciting young talent with significant potential and we are looking forward to seeing his continued growth and development in the years ahead."
Hewett's re-signing follows recent extensions for Archer Reid (2030), Reuben Ginbey (2030), Milan Murdock (2028) and Ryan Maric (2028).
