Hertha Berlin coach Pal Dardai has given a verdict on Arsenal loanee Matteo Guendouzi which may concern Mikel Arteta.
The Frenchman is spending the season on loan with the Bundesliga side following a fall from grace last year, which saw him exiled from the squad following a clash with Brighton's Neal Maupay in June.
Since moving to Germany, Guendouzi has found regular opportunities in Hertha's ranks, featuring in 17 of 22 Bundesliga matches, but there is still a long way to go in his development, Dardai has warned.
"It's like puberty for him, he's kind of a rebel. He has to work and learn like an animal," he told Bild.
Guendouzi, during the recent 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig, was introduced as a second-half substitute for Hertha and lost the ball inside three minutes, leading to the second goal in the game.
Having thrown himself to ground, the midfielder would have hoped to have received a free-kick but instead, he was left with red faced and Dardai has seen this occur on a number of occasions in training.
"In training, I always stop these kind of duels because you can't fall to the ground like this. And, afterwards, he's mad."
Arsenal's plans for Guendouzi beyond the summer are not certain but the Sun has stated the Gunners will look to raise £25m from the sale of a player who sees his contract expire in 2022.
The 21-year-old may still have a fine career ahead of him but the concerns regarding an apparent rebellious streak could be of concern to potential suitors.
Should he find a fresh opportunity at Arsenal next season, Arteta will certainly look to erase this from his profile as it presents potential issues.
