'Heroin worth €12,000', axe and ballistics vest seized in city centre raid

Suspected heroin worth around €12,000, an axe and a ballistics vest have been seized by gardai following a raid on a city centre property.

The search was carried out at around 3:30pm on Friday afternoon in Pearse Street as part of Operation Pier.

Drug paraphernalia was also confiscated in the raid.

A man in his 30s and a woman in her 40s were arrested and brought to Pearse Street garda station.

They have both since been charged and are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on 17 June 2020.
