A Runcorn man has been jailed for drug and firearm offences after his DNA was found on a shotgun.
Jordan Ferns, 27, previously of Sycamore Road, was found with the gun after a raid at a property on Dover Close in Murdishaw on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.
Cheshire police said officers searched the loft where they found a shotgun along with 30 wraps of heroin inside a blue rucksack.
Forensic testing found Ferns’s DNA on the shotgun trigger.
He gave no comment answers in police interview.
Ferns was sentenced to seven years in prison at Chester Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to possessing a prohibited firearm and being concerned in the supply of heroin.

After the hearing, acting Sergeant Phil Brown, of Runcorn Local Policing Unit, said: “Ferns admitted to serious offences including the supply of a Class A drug which has a detrimental impact on vulnerable people and those who live in the local community.
“After seizing the shot gun it was forensically examined and found to be directly linked to Ferns after his DNA was on the trigger of the firearm.
