Heroic locals save the day after thug pounces on young teen and steals scooter in Dublin

Fearless Dubliners helped a young teen after a thug pounced on him and stole an electric scooter in a broad daylight.

The incident happened on Old Lucan Road in Palmerstown around 4.40 pm yesterday.

A brazen hooligan on a motorbike jumped the young man, grabbed his electric scooter, and fled the scene.

Thankfully a local businessman and two other people spotted the robbery and quickly sprung into action.

They chased the robber down the road going towards the M50 bridge.

The brave locals were able to retrieve the scooter and give it back to the teen.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating a theft which occurred at approximately 4.40 pm on 23rd July 2021 on the Old Lucan Road, Palmerstown Co.Dublin.

"A male approached a male youth and took his scooter. He fled the scene but shortly after, the scooter was recovered.

"Investigations ongoing."
