Heroic Edinburgh police dogs track down hooligans after dramatic city centre car chase

Police Scotland have revealed that two doggy heroes helped them to catch and arrest the driver and passengers of a car that took them on a dramatic pursuit through the city.

At around 1.25am on Monday 19 October, police attempted to pull over a red Kia Ceed GT-Line on Pennywell Road amid concerns over their driving.

But when the car failed to stop, Edinburgh officers were forced to follow the vehicle on a high-speed chase through the city.

The car was eventually abandoned on Greendykes Road and thanks to the dog handlers being deployed, all three men involved have now been arrested and charged.

Edinburgh Police Division shared and image of Bear and Harper looking very proud, writing:

"Officers attempted to stop a red Kia Ceed GT-Line on Pennywell Road, due to the manner it was being driven.

"The car drove away at speed which resulted in a pursuit through the city that required other resources.
