Heroic commuter stands up to 'racist' who was 'picking on young boy'

A brave passenger confronted a drunken man who was allegedly racially abusing a boy on a busy overground Tube.

Boozed up and swaying, the man was filmed slurring abuse at a younger commuter - who was out of shot.

The heroic bystander can be heard saying: "What's the point in being racist? What do you want?

Unbelievably he sarcastically knocks against the train cabin wall and replies: "I'm racist because you're stupid."

The man then replies: "For what? For sitting here and doing nothing? I'm stupid?"

The older man, presumably in his 50s, was dressed in a white t shirt, shorts appears to say: "You're doing something. You're a citizen here for some reason."

This seemed to wind the defender up even more and he , he launches a stinging attack: "You need to shut up, you've been disturbing this boy for a long time are we're all getting f***** off with you.

"You're drunk. Leave him alone, alright? You're clearly f***ing racist. Leave him alone!"

He'd gotten out of his chair by this point and snapped: "You've had too much to drink, you shut up or I'll get you off this train.

"You're an old man, he's a young man, why don't you shut up?

"If you want to pick a fight with someone, go out and do it properly. Someone had to say something to you because you're just ridiculous, you're pathetic."

The heroic move from the brave bystander was captured on video by Lex Blondin, and has since been shared on Instagram .

He captioned the video: "He got taken out of the Tube at the next stop as well and a massive applause ensued.

"I wish I could have done exactly that but I don't quite have the shoulders for it."
