Hero workers came to the rescue after a cat found itself facing death in a North Dublin river on Thursday.
Workers in Tolka Valley Park rushed to the scene after a cat got stuck in the river as the waters quickly began rising.
The quick-thinkers saw the beautiful feline which was up against a wall it couldn't climb.
A ladder was quickly sourced from a nearby garden and the lads hopped over the wall onto a grass patch and began their rescue operation.
Pictures taken by Justin Stacey show the men getting the ladder over the wall before lowering down to the cat.
They then use a net to help it make its way up until a successful operation is complete.
Justin told Dublin Live how a crowd cheered them on from the other side as they all feared for the cat which was starting to struggle with the currents.
He said: "Fair dues to the lads down in the park and great credit for a caring rescue effort of a poor, frightened, and scared, cat.
"A beautiful black and white cat with a nice red bow round her neck fell off the high wall into the Tolka and was stranded on the only rock above the high rushing water.
"After a few failed efforts to snag her in a bag she tried to swim against the flow, poor thing.
"She got back on the rock but was still scared and petrified.
"A ladder was eventually got from a nearby garden and she successfully climbed to safety.
"Wet and bewildered she scampered off home.
"It’s a small thing on many ways but fabulous to see a lot of people trying to assist.
"Well done all who helped the poor animal."
