Two teenage boys have been hailed "wonderful kids" after frantically chasing a woman’s runaway rescue dog.
Lorraine Diamond was at her home in Wirral on Tuesday night when her husband opened the door to pick up a takeaway causing their dog, Scooby, to get scared and bolt through the ‘very small gap’ of the door.
Scooby, who the family rescued in September this year, ran through Liscard dodging traffic while Lorraine’s husband, daughter and son-in-law all attempted to keep up behind him.

Lorraine made her way to Central Park in Wallasey where her family had managed to follow the one-year-old pup to.
She told the ECHO: “I arrived at the park a short while later in the dark.
“I asked two young lads if they had seen a dog running around and asked if they came across him if they would grab him as he doesn’t bite.
“The young lads agreed and approximately 10 minutes later they came back and asked me ‘do you have a lead miss’.”
The teenage boys, believed to be around 14-years-old, spotted Scooby by the lake in the park and surrounded the dog whilst Lorraine’s son-in-law secured him.
Lorraine posted about the event on a community Facebook page and praised the two boys.
She wrote: "Our dog bolted tonight.
"He’s a rescue dog. Very scared. Very timid, but VERY fast.
"Just like to thank the two lads in Central Park Wallasey for their help aged about 14.
"See not all kids ( teens ) in the park are up to to no good.
"Thanks lads."
The post was met with a huge response from locals, with one branding the boys ‘wonderful kids’.
One person wrote: “The good kids outnumber the bad.”
Another said: “That's great news! They get tarred with the same brush but it's only the minority. Well done lads xx”
And a close friend to the family replied: "I went sick when I seen [daughter's] status especially knowing what you went through to get him and how tough it's been.
"So happy he's was found and it was a happy ending."
