Hero hunt on to find mystery Dublin woman after incredible gesture of goodwill at shop

A hero hunt is underway to find a mystery Dublin woman who made an incredible gesture of goodwill at a shop over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The anonymous angel helped out another local whose card was declined at Littlepace Shopping Centre in Clonee after a long night shift.

A problem with the bank meant she was sent on her way without her goods but a resident stepped in to save the day.

She told a local Facebook group: "Early on Sunday morning, I tried to buy shopping in Littlepace having just finished a nightshift.

"My card was declined because of an AIB issue which has only just resolved itself.

"I apologised to the shop staff and was outside walking home when another staff member called me back.

"The woman behind me in the queue had paid for my items which came to €16."

The person was so overwhelmed by the small but powerful gesture that she felt it was only right to pass on the generosity until she could thank the woman properly.

"This is without a doubt the kindest thing a stranger has done for me.

"Feeling the need to pass on the kindness, I've just donated €50 to Pieta House and promise to do the same if such things happen again in the future as well as making my own kind gestures to strangers in need."

She concluded: "To this woman, who I believe lives in or near Littlepace Park, thank you from the bottom of my heart."
