A Glasgow bus driver has been praised for his 'quick reactions' after two 14-year-old boys were stabbed onboard a service in the city at the weekend.
Both teenagers sustained serious injuries as a result of the attack, which took place on a service travelling on Gorbals Street on the south side of the city on Sunday afternoon around 2:40pm.
The driver came to the aid of the injured passengers prior to the arrival of the emergency services, who then rushed the pair to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
As of yesterday afternoon, both remained in hospital.
Four male youths - one aged 16, two aged 14 and one aged 13 - have been arrested in connection with the incident, with police enquiries continuing.
First Glasgow confirm that they are working with police to assist the investigation and have made CCTV footage available to them.
Duncan Cameron, Operations Director for First Glasgow, said: “I can confirm that a serious assault to two teenagers occurred on board one of our Sunday afternoon services.
"We are doing all we can to assist Police Scotland with their investigation into the incident including making the CCTV footage available.
"First Glasgow condemns any acts of violence towards our staff or passengers and although incidents of this nature are very rare on our services, I would like to praise the driver for his quick reactions to aid the injured passengers.”
