A young girl has been praised for coming to her mum's aid and fighting off a robber.
Journee Nelson was praised by police officers after she bravely threw herself into harm's way.
Surveillance video shows Danielle Mobley and her daughter walking up to their car at the side of the road.
A man, police later claim was 29-year-old Demetrius Jackson, suddenly runs up to the woman while she is putting her shopping away.
He tackles her to the ground and attempt to grab her purse.
As he does, Journee runs into frame and throws some punches at the thief's head.
“I fought back. I had to save my mom,” the nine-year-old told WSVN in Miami.

After being pushed to the floor in the scuffle, the young girl got up and chased the suspect about five blocks.
The man got away with Mobley’s purse, which contained a mobile phone, gum, several bank cards, a Coach wallet, some cash, and her gun permit.
Police arrested Jackson two days after the attack and charged him with robbery and battery.

West Palm Beach Chief Frank Adderley said: “I wouldn’t recommend that you confront an individual like that, but in the heat of the moment things happen.
“I bet he was shocked … because (you) definitely could tell on the video that he was not expecting that, and her actions were perfect timing in this particular situation, and I think she hit him pretty hard.”
