A man was pulled from the River Liffey in a dramatic late night rescue in the city centre.
Dublin Fire Brigade launched their rescue boat late last night after the man got into difficulty near O'Connell Bridge.
The man was brought to an ambulance and is expected to make a full recovery.
Firefighters shared a picture of the scene on social media early this morning.
They said: "Firefighters from HQ and Phibsborough rescued a male from the Liffey at O'Connell Bridge overnight.
"Our rescue boat was launched and brought him to an awaiting ambulance. He is expected to make a full recovery.
"Last year 103 people in Ireland lost their lives due to drowning."
