A fearless Dublin dad became a home hero when he fought off an intruder, coming to the rescue of his wheelchair-bound child.
The Finglas father caught the thug mid-burglary after he forced entry to the northside house at 4:30pm yesterday.
He described the wannabe thief as a "scumbag" who "got into the kids' house while my daughter was in and she is in a wheelchair".
Bravely confronting the thug, the Dubliner battled with him until he eventually fled the scene.
The dad has appealed to locals who may have any information, witnessed suspicious activity at the time or who may have extra CCTV footage to contact him so he can pass it on to gardai.
A spokeswoman for Gardai told Dublin Live: "We are investigating an incident of burglary which occurred at a domestic residence in the Finglas area on 28 April.
"The owner of the property disturbed an intruder in the house who then fled the scene on foot."
She added: "No property was taken and no criminal damage was caused."
