Hero Delta driver climbs through bus window to help stricken driver after crash

A heroic private hire taxi driver leaped through the window of a bus, after it collided with two other cars near Walton Police Station.

Moments after the single decker bus smashed into a white tipper truck and a van, the taxi driver checked on the driver and climbed through the side of the vehicle to put the bus into neutral.

The incident, which happened yesterday afternoon, resulted in a number of road closures and bus diversions throughout the day.

The driver was later removed from the scene and taken to hospital by emergency services, while one bus passenger received minor injuries.

The taxi driver who did not want to be named said: “The bus driver appeared to look very unwell at the time of the crash and was slumped over to his left of the steering wheel.
