
A KNIFE-WIELDING robber got away empty handed in Greta on Saturday when a good Samaritan stepped in to protect his local bottle shop.
About 10.50am police were called to the licensed premise on High Street following reports of an attempted armed robbery.
Witnesses said a man entered the store armed with a knife and threatened the 37-year-old female employee.
A male customer, 36, entered the store and immediately confronted the offender.
The robber fled the scene empty handed and no one was injured during the incident.
