A Belfast bus driver took his passengers on a detour to get an upset woman to her mum's care home on time for a 30 minute visit, after the 79-year-old got the Covid-19 jab.
Jacqueline says she was in tears after realising she had boarded the wrong service to get to Bradley Manor, a residential care home on the Crumlin Road.
But the huge-hearted 11B Translink bus driver apologised to passengers and took a slightly different route on Wednesday afternoon to make sure she saw her.
It is understood Alec asked if she had got on the wrong bus, to which she says: "I started crying and said 'I'm not too sure'.
"He said I can drop you here or I can drop you there.
"I don't know this side of town at all - and he asked the people on the bus did they mind if he took a short detour and he took me to the roundabout just at the top here and then I was able to get here on time to see mummy."
As for the bus driver, she said: "His name is Alec. I would like to say thank you very much Alec, you've made my day."
A Translink spokesperson replied to the video Sky News reporter Stephen Murphy shared, saying: "You have made my heart sing Stephen - did this happen today? Tell me more - we'd love to thank the driver."
Mr Muprhy was at the care home where Jacqueline's mum is staying to report on residents getting the first of their Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines.
He said: "79-year-old Eileen McGrugan, herself a former care home assistant, was vaccinated today.
"Her daughter Jacqueline is looking forward to being able to hug her again soon."
