Hero armed cops help deliver baby girl in Aberdeen after she arrived ‘earlier than expected’

Hero armed police officers have been hailed after helping deliver a tiny baby girl in Aberdeen.

ARV officers were on hand to assist the mum after she unexpectedly went into labour on Monday morning.

After safely welcoming the youngster into the world, the cops delivered first aid until paramedics arrived to take over a short time later.

Police Scotland’s Armed Policing unit revealed the hero antics of their officers on Twitter.

They wrote: “Our officers were in the right place at the right time this morning in Aberdeen when a baby girl made a slightly earlier than expected arrival.

“The ARV officers safely delivered the baby & provided first aid until the arrival of ambulance colleagues shortly after.”

The officers were applauded for their actions with Twitter user Martin Duthie writing: “Not all heroes wear capes!”

And Mari Fleming added: “Well done, always expecting the unexpected.”

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
