Hermes apologises for parcel delays after courier questioned by police

Hermes has apologised for a number of parcel delays after a courier was questioned by the police.

The incident which led to the courier being detained took place in the Bournville estate in Weston-super-Mare on Wednesday, April 29.

The driver was released by police the same day but some customers were forced to wait a day longer to receive their parcels.

A Hermes spokeswoman confirmed a courier was questioned but refused to provide further details when asked by Bristol Live about the incident.

She said: "The courier was questioned by the police and was released the same day.

"Our teams are helping to ensure that deliveries are made every day, including to the most vulnerable in society.

"A small number of parcels were delayed by a day and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
