Every year on four days in September, Heritage Open Days gives anyone a chance to explore architecture and culture that normally remains behind closed doors, or requires admission fees. If you plan on discovering a new building, walk or town hall this weekend, we would like to see your photos and stories about your open days experience or photos from your favourite heritage sites across the UK.
Perhaps there’s a guided tour you have been wanting to do, but have not had the opportunity before. Maybe there’s a particular heritage walk that you have been wanting to try, or a hidden landscape you’ve been meaning to explore.
The wide range of places and tours offered by the Heritage Open Days means everyone’s cultural interests are catered for, so share your photos of your weekend expeditions and explorations with us and we will feature the best on our site.
Share your pictures now by clicking on one of the blue ‘contribute’ buttons or, if you’re out and about, you can download theGuardianWitness app on your smartphone. Please bear in mind that we need parental permission for photos which include anyone under 16s, so do make that explicit in the text when you submit them.
- GuardianWitness is the home of user-generated content on the Guardian. Contribute your video, pictures and stories, and browse news, reviews and creations submitted by others. Posts will be reviewed prior to publication on GuardianWitness, and the best pieces will feature on the Guardian site.
Many thanks to Richard Hammerton for this GuardianWitness assignment idea.
