Here We Bloody Go: Andrew Bolt Says That Voters ‘Are Wrong’ After Labor Victory

Conservative commentator Andrew Bolt has decried the results of the 2025 federal election, writing an opinion piece that claims the “voters were wrong” for re-electing Anthony Albanese last night.

“No, the voters aren’t always right,” Bolt wrote for The Herald Sun on Sunday. “This time they were wrong, and this gutless and incoherent Coalition should be ashamed.

“You see, voters objectively did get it wrong — but the question for the Coalition is exactly when?”

Or, maybe just maybe, Aussie voters didn’t want to elect someone who was basically Donald Trump 2.0 and for randomly making Welcome to Country acknowledgments a hot-button political issue? IDK, just a thought!!

“Were voters wrong four months ago, when they told the polls they wanted the incompetent Albanese Government gone? When the Coalition was ahead in the main polls, by an average of 52 per cent to Labor’s 48?” He continued in his opinion piece.

“The Coalition had fought to a shock lead in the polls, and then…stopped.”

In another eyeball moment, Bolt claimed that the reason Coalition leader Peter Dutton did not win the election was because the party did not fight “the culture war” and did not utilise its “most effective” speakers such as Barnaby Joyce, Jacinta Nampijinpa Price, and Andrew Hastie.

“Starting from January, the Coalition rolled itself in a ball,” Bolt wrote.

“It refused to fight the ‘culture wars’ that terrify many Liberals. It dodged mentioning China, hid its defence policy until the last minute, and barely criticised Labor’s catastrophic green energy policies, even last week when Spain and Portugal were totally blacked out by relying too much on fickle wind and solar power.

“Dutton instead presented an endless laundry list of promises, mostly handouts, and so un-ideological that voters would have lost track of which side was promising what.”

On Saturday, Dutton lost his Queensland seat in Dickson to Labor’s Ali France. He conceded defeat and accepted “full responsibility” for Liberal’s loss.

He also confirmed that he congratulated Albo in a phone call, and stated that he wished him, and his partner Jodie Haydon, the best.

“Earlier, I called out the Prime Minister to congratulate him on his success tonight,” he said.

“I congratulated the Prime Minister and wished [him], Jodie, and Nathan all the very best, and I said to the Prime Minister that his mother would be incredibly proud of his achievement tonight and he should be proud of what he has achieved.”

While we can rejoice knowing that Dutton won’t be PM, another terrible fact remains: we’ll have to endure more of these opinion pieces in the near future. Damn!!
