Many Glaswegians arrived back at their cars yesterday after a day of working to find it covered in an ash coloured dirt.
Several took to social media to ask what it was, and it turns out it's a freak sand storm from the Sahara.
Dust from the African desert has been drifting more than 2,000 miles northwards after high pressure over Scandinavia - which brought warm weather to Glasgow and the rest of Scotland over the weekend.
The rare storm caused havoc to cars in the Glasgow area, with many locals raging after finding their cars dirty after washing them at the weekend.
The Met Office reported it would take 36 hours to pass through Scotland so the worst of it should be over now.
One resident told Glasgow Live they first spotted the dirt all over their car when they left work in the city centre.
They said: "All the cars in the car park had a light dusting on them, I thought it was strange. And then when I went to the west end to pick up my son from school I noticed all the cars in the area were also covered."
