Here's why the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is lit up green this week

As Glaswegians, we like to think we know out city pretty well.

But did you spot the difference to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital this week?

We'll admit we did a double take when we passed the hospital, which has been lit up green all week long.

After some digging we found out that the hospital on Govan Road was sparkling green for one very special reason.

A spokesman for the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: "We are lighting up the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital green all week to celebrate Organ Donation Week.

"We’re urging people across Greater Glasgow and Clyde to think about their organ donation decision and make it known."

So there you have it! A nice wee bit of change and for a good cause to boot!
