Here's why the N7 closed to traffic and caused Clondalkin and Tallaght to come to a standstill

Traffic was brought to a standstill at Newland's Cross in Clondalkin and it's surrounding areas following a collision this evening.

Queues built across Clondalkin, Tallaght and beyond as the N7 closed to traffic due to a collision.

- which led to delays on numerous other routes in Dublin.

In a statement, gardai confirmed that the crash was between a truck and a bus and that they were dealing with injuries to those involved.

They confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening.

What to do in a collision

A spokeswoman said: "Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the N7.

"The incident involving a truck and a bus occurred on the N7, Naas Rd outbound on 30th May 2019 at approximately 5.40pm.

"We are currently dealing with non life threatening injuries and will issue further updates.

"Two lanes have re opened and updates will be provided via Garda Traffic Twitter."
