Here's why Bristol was mentioned on EastEnders last night

Thousands of people have already been to see The Book of Mormon at Bristol's Hippodrome.

It's received rave reviews from newspapers up and down the country and has been dubbed by Bristol Live as "outrageous, uplifting and hilarious."

And now, the critically acclaimed musical has even got a mention on BBC One's EastEnders yesterday evening (February 17).

One of the EasEnders characters, Sonia Fowler, discussed both Bristol and the Book of Mormon during the episode. But as viewers soon found out, Sonia didn't quite make it to Bristol for the show.

Sonia said: "Honestly mum, I've had the day from hell.

"Yeah, well I was meant to go to Bristol, to see the Book of Mormon, yeah, well everyone bailed on me, so I decided to do an extra shift at work.

"Anyway, I'm back now, house to myself, silver linings and all that hey."

There are still a few tickets priced at £32 for the Book of Mormon, which ends here in Bristol on Saturday (February 22).

If Sonia is quick, she might be able to grab one last bargain.
