Here's where you can go to the toilet in Bury during lockdown

Shops, bars and restaurants are all reopening and many people are excited to get back to normal.

But your long-awaited shopping spree or day trip could be brought to a disastrous halt when you find yourself desperate for the toilet - without a loo in sight.

Many public toilets are yet to be reopened - however a handy map has been launched that shows off all of the loos open and safe to use in the UK during lockdown.

Website Lockdown Loo, created by Thomas and Charles Riley, includes 3,500 'loo-cations' in pubs, shops, supermarkets and service stations across the country that are available for people in a pinch.

It’s built from information supplied by the council, along with entries from good Samaritans among the public.

The Manchester Evening News has put together a list of loos available in Bury in case people are caught short:

  • Prestwich Tesco, M25 3TG. Lockdown Loo says: "We are told toilets at bigger Tesco stores are open under social distancing rules. They may sometimes close for cleaning."
  • Radcliffe Asda, Riverside Retail Park, M26 3DA. These loos are open from 7am - 12am from Monday to Friday, 7am - 10pm on Saturday, and 10am - 4pm on Sunday, according to the website. Disabled facilities and baby change facilities are available.

  • Bury Millgate Shopping Centre. There is one accessible toilet here.

  • Bury Tesco, BL9 5BY. Lockdown Loo says: "We are told toilets at bigger Tesco stores are open under social distancing rules. They may sometimes close for cleaning."

  • Pilsworth Asda, Pilsworth Road, BL9 8RS. These loos are open from 7am - 12am from Monday to Friday, 7am - 10pm on Saturday, and 10.30am - 4.30pm on Sunday, according to the website. Disabled facilities and baby change facilities are available.

The website's creators encourage people to get involved in the crowd-sourced bank of loos, saying: "This website is only as useful as the information we are supplied.

"If you know of toilets which are open - whether they are at pubs, stations, cafes or in a public park - please SUBMIT them.

"We are also monitoring council updates and speaking to businesses.
