Here’s where the Patriots pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft

The New England Patriots have the No. 23 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

If the New Orleans Saints won their wild-card round playoff game on Sunday, the Patriots would have been slotted at No. 24. The Patriots drafted Isaiah Wynn in 2018 with the No. 23 pick, but it was a result of a trade that send Brandin Cooks to the Los Angeles Rams.

The last time that the Patriots had the No. 23 pick or higher without a trade involved was when they drafted Laurence Maroney with the No. 21 pick in 2006. The Patriots in recent years have drafted lower in the first round — N’Keal Harry was drafted at No. 32 last season.

New England has plenty of holes to fill and it currently holds eight picks in the draft next season — with potentially four compensatory picks.

Here’s a current look at the 12 picks:

  • 1st round – Pick 23
  • 2nd round – Pick 87
  • 2 projected 3rd round compensatory picks
  • 4th round (Chicago)
  • 6th round (Houston)
  • 6th round (Denver)
  • 2 projected 6th round compensatory picks
  • 7th round (Seattle)
  • 7th round (Eagles)
  • 7th round (Falcons)
