Here's where Glasgow, Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian rank in the University League Tables 2020

The University League Tables are out for 2020, with all three universities in Glasgow featuring among the top 100 institutions across the nation.

The ranking, analyses the 131 UK universities in terms of criteria such as student satisfaction rates, graduate prospects, research quality and student-staff ratio to provide an overall score.

This year saw the University of Glasgow ranked 18th in the UK, up six places from last year and two places behind the University of Edinburgh in 16th position.

The University of Strathclyde is placed 39th in the table (up one place from last year), while Glasgow Caledonian University features in 77th position overall, up eight places from last year's rankings.

If we break down the ranking criteria, Strathclyde find themselves in fifth position and Glasgow in sixth of all UK universities in terms of entry standards - the average UCAS tariff score of new students entering the university.

Meanwhile of the 70 subjects ranked across the universities, Glasgow comes out top across the UK in seven of them, namely Sports Science, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Accounting and Dentistry, Drama, Dance and Cinematics and Education.

With Strathclyde the best in the country in the subject of Pharmacology and Pharmacy.

In the separate list which ranks the 12 specialist colleges and conservatoires across the country that do not appear in the main University League Table, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is placed in sixth position, with the Glasgow School of Art in 10th position.

And if the criteria for the ranking is looked at on an individual basis, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland comes first in terms of Student Satisfaction Rates of the 12 specialist colleges and conservatoires.
