Here's where all the new Nextbike stations being installed in Glasgow are located

Glaswegians are being encouraged to travel more sustainably as new bike stations are being installed across the city as we speak.

Nextbike confirmed plans back in February to install 120 new bikes and 12 additional stations - allowing users of the bike share scheme access to a total of 79 stations.

The new stations go someway towards Glasgow City Council's overall target of 1000 bikes at 100 stations in the city - which will hopefully be satisfied by a demand among Glaswegians which saw over 500,000 rentals alone last year.

Six of the stations that are being installed are located in Low Emission Zones, with the remaining six spread out across the city.

The location of the stations are as follows:

Hyndland Road / Clarence Drive

Broomhill

Garscube Rd (The Round Toll)

King Street

Carrick Quay at River Clyde

Broomielaw South (Kingston Bridge / The Ferry)

Bath Street

St Andrews Drive (Dalziel Drive)

St Andrews Drive (Springkell Ave)

St Rollox

Springburn Railway Station

Glasgow Central

The hire scheme landed in the city back in April of 2016 with an original plan to provide offer 400 bikes for hire at 31 locations across Glasgow.
