Here's what will replace Match of the Day on Saturday night - and people are fuming

The Premier League has been postponed until at least April 3 due to the impact of coronavirus - and that will have an impact on the Saturday TV viewing habits of millions of people.

Match of the Day, the flagship football highlight show on BBC One, has been cancelled and replaced by Mrs Brown Boys.

The news that 'first-ever live broadcast' of the sitcom will replace the views and analysis of Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer has been met with negative reactions by those on social media.

The BBC hasn't announced the change in programming but the online TV schedule has seen Brendan O'Carroll's hit show placed on the timing in which MOTD is usually broadcast.

The blurb for the show, reads: "Agnes Brown is her usual meddling self in the first-ever live broadcast of Mrs Brown's Boys. When Agnes discovers that Mark and Betty are having bedroom problems, she takes it upon herself to help. Meanwhile, as Dermot's business grows, he has a difficult decision to make about his best friend Buster."

The show was originally broadcast in July 2016.

Newcastle United were due to play Sheffield United this Saturday but the Premier League announced on Friday morning that all games has been postponed until at least April 3 due to coronavirus.
