Here’s What to Expect From Travelers Companies’ Next Earnings Report

With a market cap of $59.5 billion, The Travelers Companies, Inc. (TRV) provides a range of commercial and personal property and casualty insurance products and services to businesses, government units, associations, and individuals. Based in New York, the company operates through three segments: Business Insurance, Bond & Specialty Insurance, and Personal Insurance.

The insurance company is expected to release its Q2 2025 earnings before the market opens on Thursday, Jul. 17. Ahead of this event, analysts expect TRV to report adjusted earnings of $3.52 per share, representing a growth of 40.2% from $2.51 per share reported in the same quarter last year. The company has surpassed Wall Street's bottom-line estimates in the past four quarters.

 

For fiscal 2025, analysts forecast Travelers Companies to report an adjusted EPS of $18.39, representing a 14.8% decline from $21.58 in fiscal 2024. However, in fiscal 2026, its earnings are expected to grow 30.8% year-over-year to $24.05 per share.

Shares of TRV have soared 27.2% over the past 52 weeks, outperforming the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX12.6% rise and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund’s (XLF26.8% return during the same time frame.

Travelers Companies’ stock rose 1.1% following the release of its Q1 2025 results on Apr. 16. Quarterly revenue grew 5.2% year-over-year to $11.8 billion. The company’s net investment income increased 9.9% from the year-ago quarter to $930 million. However, core income declined 59.6% to $443 million, primarily due to higher catastrophe losses. Core EPS came in at $1.91, down 59.3% year-over-year, but significantly exceeded the consensus estimate by 198.4%

Additionally, the company announced a 5% increase in its regular quarterly cash dividend to $1.10 per share, boosting investor sentiment. 

Analysts' consensus view on TRV stock remains moderately optimistic, with an overall "Moderate Buy" rating. Out of 25 analysts covering the stock, opinions include nine "Strong Buys," one "Moderate Buy," 13 "Holds,” one “Moderate Sell,” and one “Strong Sell.” Its mean price target of $285.24 suggests an 8.3% upside potential from current price levels.
