Here’s What Susannah’s Letter Said On The Summer I Turned Pretty & I’m In Shambles

Alongside the hoopla surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s proposal, the timeline is in overdrive over the latest episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty (TSITP). Specifically, the heartwarming yet heartwrenching letter Susannah left behind for Conrad’s wedding day.

It’s no secret that TSTIP‘s third and final season has had everyone on an emotional roller coaster. From shitty engagement rings to tantrums over wedding cakes and an edible triggering situationship throwbacks, the beloved show has truly been on the tip of every yearner’s tongue.

Most recently, in its eighth episode titled “Last Kiss”, viewers have been bawling over the heartbreakingly beautiful letter Susannah wrote to Conrad before she passed away.

To give you a quick recap of episode eight, before Susannah (Rachel Blanchard) succumbed to breast cancer, she penned a letter for Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), Belly (Lola Tung) and Conrad (Christopher Briney) to read on their wedding days.

On the morning of Belly and Jeremiah’s nuptials, Jeremiah went completely AWOL after he found out that Conrad had confessed his love to Belly.

Conrad then found Jeremiah, where they ended up having a tiff. Afterwards, Conrad handed the letter to Jeremiah. However, the letter was addressed to Conrad.

While we can’t see the beautiful words Susannah left Conrad when Jere first opens the envelope, we do get some clarity once Conrad gets a hold of the letter.

What does Susannah’s letter say to Conrad?

Get your tissue boxes ready, ‘cos this is what the full letter says:

“Dear Conrad,

I can hardly believe my little bug is getting married today! I am just bursting at the thought that my beautiful boy has found the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

I only ever got to see you in love once, and for that I will always, always be grateful. Not just that I got to see you in love, but I get to see you be loved. Oh, the way she looked at you — it was like you were the only boy in the world. As a mother, there is no greater gift than to see her child be so dearly loved by another person. Today, if there is even a fraction of the love I saw then, I am more than happy, I am overjoyed.

Don’t be afraid to tell her every day how very much she means to you. Cook for her, be a good listener, don’t try to win every argument. Jewellery is always welcome. Pay attention to if she wears gold or silver. If she is not a jewellery girl, then chocolate.

Loving you always and forever,
Mom.”

While the letter doesn’t mention Belly as his future wife, it definitely references A LOT of what Conrad has done for her. Anyways, here’s what fans had to say about Susannah’s letter to Conrad.
