Here’s what it’s like on one of Ireland’s busiest streets today with Penneys, Dunnes and Arnotts attracting crowds

Retail is back and shoppers are hitting the high-streets to stock up on clothes, gifts and more.

Penneys is the top of many people's lists but plenty other retailers are welcoming hundreds of shoppers in today.

And no street is likely busier than the bustling Henry Street in Dublin City with an array of options to choose from.

With a Penneys, an Arnotts, a Dunnes Stores, a Next and many more outlets, the place is unsurprisingly thronged with eager shoppers.

So we decided to head down to see what it was like - and it was exactly what you would expect.

Town is busy but not jammed with plenty of people of course unable to go shopping at this time on a weekday.

However, it is noticeably busier than much of this year with the likes of Penneys attracting huge crowds.

Bags full of Christmas gifts and budget clothes can be seen being hauled along the long street in the chilly but fine weather.

Take a look at our video above to see what Henry Street in Dublin looked like at 11am this morning.
