Here's what happens to the things you leave behind at Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport has revealed what happens to books and toiletries that get left behind or confiscated.

Many passengers leave books behind at the airport while toiletries over 100ml aren't allowed on hand luggage.

One Twitter user, Susan Hayes, shared a picture of second hand books left behind which the airport sell in order to raise money for charity, Dublin Live reports.

Another user suggested airport officials do the same with the likes of toiletries.

Dublin Airport replied, revealing that they already donate the confiscated items to three charities - Debra Ireland, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland and the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre

What a great idea. It's lovely to know these items aren't wasted, instead going to very worthy causes.
