Here’s what happened as journalists met after Burari assault, Ballia arrests

On April 3, journalists from Newslaundry and other digital media outlets were assaulted while reporting on the Hindu Mahapanchayat in Delhi’s Burari. The incident took place in the presence of Delhi Police – four FIRs have since been filed, including one against news portal Article 14 and a journalist targeted at the event.

In response to the assault, and other attacks on the media across the country, including the recent arrests of journalists in UP’s Ballia, the Digipub News India Foundation and Press Club of India held a meeting of journalists in Delhi on Wednesday. Here’s what happened.
