Here’s what Bill Belichick told the Patriots in the locker room after Week 6 win over the Giants

Winning is the most important thing, no matter how you get it done. That seemed to be the message in the New England Patriots’ locker room following Thursday night’s 35-14 win over the New York Giants.

Even coach Bill Belichick managed to turn his frown upside down on a night when his offense gave up three sacks, one interception and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. The final score doesn’t tell the full story of a night that could have very well ended in disaster.

That’s still no reason to grab the pot helmets and run underground to prepare for the end of the world. The sky isn’t falling in Foxborough, and panic isn’t setting in on a Patriots team that improved to 6-0 on the season.

Have you seen that defense?

Quarterback Tom Brady was awarded the game ball after the win for surpassing Peyton Manning for second place behind Drew Brees on the all-time passing yards list. NFL all-time leading rusher Emmitt Smith should probably watch his back after Brady rushed for six yards and two touchdowns against the Giants. The rushing record could be next on the list.

The Patriots get a mini bye with their next game being a Monday Night Football meeting on the road against the New York Jets in Week 7. They’ll use that time to rest up their injury-riddled roster, along with building a foundation for potential moves ahead of the trade deadline.
