Oasis guitarist Bonehead has updated fans on his cancer battle. The legendary Manchester musician thanked fans for their messages of support as he started his final session of chemotherapy.
The musician, whose real name is Paul Arthurs, is widely known as the rhythm guitarist, keyboardist and co-founder of English rock band Oasis. He announced in April that he had been diagnosed with tonsil cancer just before he was to join Liam Gallagher on his upcoming shows at Manchester's Etihad and Knebworth Park.
The 56-year-old has since kept fans updated on treatment he has received from the Christie Hospital, as he embarked on 30 sessions of radiotherapy. In his latest update he said the radiotherapy had been 'getting sore' but that he's 'still smiling'.

In his latest Twitter update last night (June 6), he said: "Quick update. I'm in again for chemotherapy overnight tonight. That's my second and final session of chemo, the first wiped me out but hopefully this one will be better.
"I'm just past the halfway point in treatment now, I've done 16 out of 30 sessions of radiotherapy and it's getting sore, but I'm still smiling, feeling positive and being me. Counting down the days now and I'll be finished the day after my birthday on the 24th.
"Thank you for all the messages of support, they mean so much, keep them coming I read them all. I hope you enjoyed the Etihad and Knebworth shows those of you who went, how good did it look and sound?
"Here's to next year, I'll keep you updated but I'm looking to the end of treatment soon and a few months recovery. Big love to you all xxxx."
More than 1,000 fans replied to wish the guitarist all the best, and that they missed his presence at Liam's recent massive gigs. And at Liam's homecoming gig at the Etihad stadium last week the Oasis frontman paid tribute to his mate who has been joining him on tour the last few years.
As Liam started the Definitely Maybe track 'Rock 'N' Roll Star he said "this is for our Bonehead". Liam originally sent a message of support to his bandmate when he first announced his cancer diagnosis, saying: "Sending BIG love to the 1 n only Bonehead and his family wishing you a speedy recovery we’re all thinking of you rasta you’ll be back on stage bfore you can say r we doing Colombia LG x"
