Here's the moment the suspect in the Florida school shooting was arrested

Authorities in Florida say they have taken a suspect into custody after reports of "numerous casualties" in a shooting at a high school north of Miami.

Aerial footage appears to show a person being placed in handcuffs and then a police car. There are reports he was then transferred to an ambulance.

An anonymous federal official identified the suspect as 18-year-old former student Nicolas Cruz, AP reports.

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel also said he was a former student at the school.

"From what I understand there was a time where he did attend the school. I don't know when he left," he said.

"He was not a current student."

Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie told local media there were "numerous fatalities" in the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. At least 14 people have been reported as injured.

"It's a horrific situation. It's just a horrible day for us," he said.
