Here's The Insanity of What Racing a Scooter At The Nurburgring Is Like

If you don't live and breathe Nürburgring news, you may not know about Anlassen. It's an annual event, held once at the beginning of the riding season in Germany at one of the most special and famous racetracks in the world. Each year, motorcycles and scooters from Germany and elsewhere descend on the grounds, all to take place in the daylong two-wheeled festivities.

According to the 'Ring itself, around 42,000 people attended in 2025, which is pretty astonishing! But in case you missed it, or in case you just want to know what it's like to rip an insane little two-stroke race scooter around the track, Misha Charoudin is here to share his experience with you. He's basically made the 'Ring his life, on or in all manner of vehicles, including his 35-horsepower heavily modified race scooter.

Power is, of course, relative; what's really important is a power-to-weight ratio, no matter how many wheels your vehicle has. While 35 horsepower might not sound like much on a 400-to-500-pound motorcycle, what if you're riding a 50 kilogram (around 110 pound) scooter? Suddenly, the calculations look quite a bit different, as you'll quickly see here.

More than that, though, this isn't only about one guy taking one race-prepped scooter around the Nordschliefe. As you'll soon see, the sheer number of people who show up to take their two-wheeled prides and joys around the track for a lap is kind of breathtaking. Are there wheelies? Of course!

The sheer atmosphere at this event has to be incredible; there's really no way for it not to be. Obviously, if you're a person who loves the smell of two-strokes, you'll probably also be in heaven here. But even if you aren't,  you can still live vicariously through this video, and maybe even think about planning your own trip to Anlassen in the future.
