All the best pictures from Glasgow's Mardi Gla Pride march

This afternoon's Mardi Gla Pride march in Glasgow saw thousands descend on the streets of the city in a colourful celebration of LGBT rights.

Police and organisers said that around 7,000 people took part in the march, the first of two in support of the LGBT community to take place in the city this summer.

The parade saw walkers and decorated floats set off from Kelvingrove Park in the west end of the city at 11:30am, before it made its way from Kelvin Way to Sauchiehall Street, Blythswood Street and along West George Street - ending in George Square in the city centre.

There the crowds were greeted to the sight of the rainbow flag flying above the City Chambers, having returned to the city after being carried at the front of the British embassy delegation during World Pride in New York City.

It was taken to the Big Aplle by Will Labate, the New York-born chairman of Mardi Gla Pride march organisers Glasgow LGBT Co-op.
