Here's our list of the best places to watch the start of the new Premier League season

As the dawn of the new season of the Premier League is upon us, it's fairly safe to say the last few months have been torment for die-hard footy fans.

While there has been a few friendly and international matches to pass the time, you just feel watching your favourite team play against Barcelona reserves just isn't the same as the real thing.

Well, the wait is finally over, as on Friday evening all eyes turn to Anfield as Liverpool kick-off the start of the league season with what should be a seemingly straight-forward home game against Norwich City.

If you're feeling especially sociable after a long week in work, but don't want to miss the good stuff, we're here to help.

Here's our list of the best places to watch the start of the new season:

The Hairy Lemon, Stephen Street Lower

One of our favourite Dublin haunts, this South Dublin city institution is the perfect place to catch the game in a relatively chilled atmosphere tomorrow.

Gibneys, Malahide

Good luck finding a pub with a bigger screen than this. As well as this, the beer garden is amazing for a half time break.

The Bloody Stream, Howth

The Bloody Stream, which lies beneath Howth Train Station, is a gem (The Bloody Stream)

This is a fantastic boozer to watch the ball no matter the weather, as there are numerous heaters as well as TV's outside.

It's also dog friendly which is always a bonus.

The Mercantile, Dame Street

(Mercantile Hotel)

This spot has no less than NINE screens, making it an easy enough choice for you to pick a spot inside.

The Woolshed Baa and Grill, Parnell Street

Great for all sorts of sports, this pub is one of the best places in Dublin to watch any sort of sporting occasion.

The Living Room, Cathal Brugha Street

Another great place to add to the list, you may want to get there early as it can get busy on Friday evenings.

Sinnotts, Stephen's Green

Sinnott's (Sinnott's/Facebook)

Located right beside the iconic shopping centre, you'll be sure to lose track of the time after a few rounds.

Harry Byrne's Clontarf

Another spot where you're guaranteed relative peace and quite to rant about how Mo Salah will flop this season despite putting four past Norwich.

Busker's, Temple Bar

The food is incredible and they've also got pool tables and table tennis for those United fans out there looking to distract themselves as Mo Salah taps in his fourth goal after 30 minutes.
