Here's how popular The Great British Bake Off winners are and how much they earn

As we mourn the loss of the Great British Bake Off being on our TV every Tuesday, the most popular GBBO winner so far has been revealed.

The study also pointed out what they are earning through Instagram.

It isn't uncommon for the star bakers to take to social media after finding fame on GBBO. Even Maggie, one of this year's oldest contestants has her own Twitter and Instagram account.

This year's winner Giuseppe also looks like an avid user on Twitter, recently posting that him and Rahul have met.

Nadiya Hussain has come out as the most popular Bake Off winner of all time, earning £3,296 per sponsored Instagram post, according to a survey.

The study conducted by kitchen experts Maxima Kitchen Equipment discovered the social media profits that each former winner of the Bake-Off with Nadiya Hussain taking the top spot thanks to her 829K Instagram followers.

Following in second place is series one winner Edd Kimber who earns an average of £1,568 per sponsored social media post.

The third most influential Bake Off winner is 2018 winner, Rahul Mandal with 350K followers and an Instagram earning of £1,400 per post.

Bake Off winner turned Strictly star, John Whaite is the sixth most popular contestant earning £923 per post. John also has the highest social media engagement rate of any Bake Off winner at 7.86%.

Last year's winner, Edinburgh born Peter Sawkins can earn an average of £951 per post making him the fifth most popular winner of the hit show.

The study has yet to include Giuseppe but he has already gathered a large following of 95.2k so far.

Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson for Maxima Kitchen Equipment said just before the finale: “With Chigs, Giuseppe and Crystelle all prepared to face the final tonight, this data provides a fascinating insight into what sort of exposure and income the winner can expect to earn once they get their hands on the trophy. Not only can they expect to make a lot of profit from projects such as recipe book deals, TV shows and appearances, but social media posts will also provide a lot of income if they utilise their platforms well.”
