Here’s how much salary cap space the Broncos have left

After the Denver Broncos signed defensive back Kareem Jackson and Ja’Wuan James, we estimated that the team had around $20.3 million in remaining salary cap space. Since then, the team has made three more moves.

Denver re-signed tight end Jeff Heuerman and defensive lineman Zach Kerr to two-year contracts. Broncos general manager John Elway also signed free agent cornerback Bryce Callahan to a three-year deal.

We don’t know yet how much each of those players will count against the salary cap individually in 2019 but we do know how much cap space the team has left. The Broncos still have approximately $15.10 million remaining, according to Albert Breer of The MMQB.

The team will need to set aside around $4 million for its rookie draft class, leaving about $11 million available to use. Denver will want to have some cap space available going into the season but the team could still make a move or two to add more depth to the roster.

After the buzz of free agency dies down, the next order of business for the Broncos should be giving cornerback Chris Harris an extension. Harris is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2020 after earning $8,766,668 this year.
